Susan is one of the co-owners of Tails & Trails. After 8 years of caring for dogs and cats of every description, Susan still loves it as much as, if not more than ever. She maintains the websites, pet journal, manages staff and operations and snatches up dog walking shifts when possible. Susan also shows and breeds the gorgeous Ancient Moon Siberian Huskies she and Nancy started with a white-knuckle drive to the far side of Maine 5 years ago.
With 3 small children, Nancy, the other half of Tails & Trails, has been working in the background to keep the business running smoothly. She has trained two excellent groomers and has recently completed her certification in canine massage therapy.
Holly is the backbone of Tails & Trails. She is the full time manager and has a hand in every aspect of the care and management of our boarders and of our operations.
Tracy is our amazing pet activity coordinator. With a magical touch and intuitive knowledge that Cesar himself would recognize, Tracy takes on any challenge and does whatever it takes to make our guests comfortable, happy, and fulfilled. We are very excited at what Tracy has already accomplished since taking on the job in mid-October, when she gave up her manager/grooming duties to spend all her time with the dogs and cats.
Katy is Susan's daughter and she started working at Tails & Trails when she was only 12! Katy is currently in her last year of university and is a part-time manager and does the odd pet activity coordinator shift. She also rescues various animals on a semi-part time basis and turns her family home into a sanctuary. Katy has been studying human rights and global issues and will be pursuing a career as a conservation officer in the next couple of years.
Deborah left us to start her young family and has returned to work as our part-time groomer two days a week. We are very happy to have her back. Deb also pitches in with some walking and pet care when she can.
Brendan was one of our youngest interviewees when he applied for a job at Tails & Trails and also one of our most impressive! He has been with us for a while now and has become a very valuable employee.
Ronan couldn't wait to follow in his sister, Fiona, and brother, Fraser's, footsteps and has been helping out with dog walking and cleaning shifts for a year now. He is gradually taking on more variety and responsibility.
Matt joined Tails & Trails this past summer. His energy and enthusiasm have been a welcome addition to the atmosphere here and his singing ability is much appreciated, especially by the dogs! Recently Matt has added awesome note-taking and comic-strip drawing to his repertoire when he does weekend pet activity shifts.
We were very lucky to have Dylan join us as well this past summer. He seems to be the strong, silent type, but is very kind to the animals in his care and takes excellent notes!
Donna is much loved at Tails & Trails. She does weekday walking shifts and is always ready to take on any walk or task with great energy and enthusiasm.
Katie was a natural with the pets in her care from her first shift. It is obvious she has lots of experience with dogs and cats. We all feel confident that Katie could handle almost anything
Kinsey is Susan's younger daughter and she started helping out at the kennel when it was still in it's construction phase. Kinsey knows Tails & Trails inside and out and has been adding some closing shifts to her resume. She has whelped puppies, picked ticks off rescued kittens, been knocked down, bitten and been loved and licked by every variety of dog and cat. Her special affinity is for the cats and kittens and she loves spending time in the cat room.
Everyone of our employees brings something special to Tails & Trails and Sarah is outstanding for her structured approach and attention to detail. She is a very hard-working and caring employee and we love it when she works!
