The Pet Files
Name: Dolan
Breed: Border Collie X
Age: 4
Owners: Brian and Beth
At Home: It was love at first site when Beth saw his face in an article in the paper. He was the poster puppy for his litter at the Western Quebec SPCA. And although Beth dragged Brian there to see them it was this adorable puppy who pick out Brian. So on Dec 30 2006, the couple brought him to their Manotick home. He was just 10 weeks old and they decided to name him Dolan Remington Webster. They soon there after moved to their current home in Dunrobin.
Dolan has many friends in his neighbourhood including Fergus, Annie,Tega and Oden just to name a few. But his best doggie friend is a little Cairn Terrier named Robin. Dolan shares his home with a wonderful feline companion named Daisy Bo May. Daisy loves to tease Dolan but rumour has it he secretly loves the attention. Up until just recently Daisy used to run the upstairs portion of the house but ever since Dolan figured out he can do stairs, there is no safe haven and now they are on equal playing turf. In the summer Dolan enjoys wading in the river. With Beth and Brian both working all day, they figured daycare was a good idea for their puppy, not to mention it was great socialization opportunity. So Dolan has since been coming for daycare a couple days a week.
At Tails & Trails: Dolan is by far one of the sweetest dogs who comes for daycare or boarding. He always comes in to Tails& Trails with such wonderful energy you just can’t help to be in a good mood when you see him. He is extremely easy going with everyone and because of his sweet calm nature we will quite often use him to walk a nervous or shy dog. He has a wonderful playful side too! He loves playing with Tanner, Oscar and Fergus, and he does not discriminate and will play with all sizes of dogs big or small. And we all know that Dolan loves a cot with a nice comfy blanket. And once his bed is set up he sure does enjoy his rest time! He truly is a wonderful dog and a joyful addition to our Tails and Trails family. We know he is treasured at home. Beth mentioned that they were looking for the right balance of nurture vs. nature and they must of found it. When asked to describe Dolan in one word: “Priceless.”
But she also added this which is definitely worth sharing
More than we know, we live by this anonymous ode:
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, and his leader. He will be yours,
faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
